Adventure-Based Learning
Learn by doing. We use shared challenges, practical problem-solving and reflection to turn outdoor experiences into opportunities for learning.
Explore the possibilitiesWe design meaningful outdoor experiences that bring people together, build leadership and create space for learning, challenge and growth. Rooted in the Garden Route, South Africa. Designed around the people taking part.
RESPOND · RESTORE · RECREATE
At GRITC OLC, we use outdoor adventure and experiential learning to create opportunities for people to discover more about themselves, work with others and navigate real challenges.
We don't simply choose an activity and hope something meaningful happens. We start with the people, understand the purpose and design the experience around them.
Every group arrives with its own story, strengths and challenges. We bring the right people, activities and intentions together to create experiences that are relevant, engaging and meaningful.

Have something different in mind?
Your idea doesn't need to fit into a predefined programme.
Let's explore what's possible.
One journey. Many paths. Room for everyone.
Indlela is GRITC OLC's approach to school journeys, built around a simple idea: a large group doesn't have to mean a one-size-fits-all experience.
Whether we're working with one learner group or more than 200 people, we design the journey around smaller, purposeful groups that move, explore, problem-solve and learn through shared experience. Each group has room to find its rhythm, face challenges together and contribute to something bigger than itself.
Unlike a traditional school camp where hundreds of learners can end up moving through the same programme as one massive group, Indlela creates space for meaningful participation, connection and growth. The journey is shaped around the people taking part, with activities, environments and challenges chosen to suit the group and the outcomes the school wants to achieve.
Because the point isn't simply to take learners somewhere different. It's to create the conditions for them to discover something new about themselves, each other and what they can achieve together.
Experiences designed around meaningful outcomes.
Learning that happens by doing, reflecting and trying again.
Every group is different. Every programme should reflect that.
Every group is different. That's why we start with people, not activities. Together, we turn your goals into an outdoor experience with purpose.
We learn about your group, your context, your challenges and what you want people to take away from the experience.
UNDERSTANDWe shape the programme around your objectives, group size, available time, environment and appropriate level of challenge.
CREATEThrough purposeful activities and shared challenges, participants practise communication, problem-solving, leadership and working together.
PARTICIPATEWe create space to make sense of the experience, recognise learning and explore how it can carry into everyday life.
INTEGRATEThe activity is only the beginning. What people learn from it is what matters.
Let's design your programme ↗We believe outdoor experiences can do more than fill a day. They can help people meet challenges, reconnect with what matters and discover new ways of moving forward.
Every person and every group arrives with a different story. Responding means paying attention, understanding the context and meeting people where they are.
Time outdoors can create room to pause, build connection and rediscover perspective. We create experiences that support wellbeing, belonging and a stronger sense of self and community.
Adventure invites people to try, adapt, collaborate and see familiar things differently. Through purposeful play and challenge, new skills and possibilities can emerge.
A school group. A leadership team. A community. An idea that doesn't fit neatly into a box.
Tell us who you're bringing, what you're working towards and what you'd like the experience to make possible. We'll work with you to design an outdoor programme that fits your people and your purpose.
